Development Control Plan
The Review of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act has recognised that decision making authorities including Councils have in the past found it necessary to allocate resources to a formal approval process for development that has by its nature had minimal or no impact on the environment. In order to free up these resources the amendments to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act has introduced two new categories of development.

Adopted On-Site Sewer Management Plan
Effective management of domestic sewage and wastewater is an important consideration for human health and the environment. Effective management requires the active involvement of both Council and landholders. Management of sewage including the nutrients and organic matter it contains, will involve effluent reuse when possible.
The objective of this publication is to guide the Carrathool Shire community towards sustainable on-site management of domestic sewage and wastewater while protecting and enhancing the quality of public health and the environment in the long term.
