The 2009/10- 2011/12 Draft Managment Plan is on public exhibition until Friday 12 June 2009.
Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the provision of Section 402 of the Local Government Act 1993, the Draft Management Plan for 2008/09 and Revenue Policy have been prepared with respect to Council’s activities for the 2008/09 Financial Year.
Council’s General Rate Levy for 2009/10 incorporates a 3.5% “rate peg” applied to the total permissible rate yield. The 3.2% increase is to be applied across all Rate Categories, i.e. Residential, Business and Farmland. As a result of a General Revaluation of all land in the Council's area (base date 1.7.2008) the level of the increase will vary from property to property. It is intended to use a uniform rate in the dollar for properties, including those properties that have received "Water exclusive" valuations. A lower rate in the dollar will apply to farmland west properties due to economic considerations.
Copies of the Draft Management Plan including the Revenue Policy will be available from Friday 15 May 2009, for public inspection at both the Goolgowi and Hillston Shire Offices and the Hillston Library. Copies of the document will also be available at the Merriwagga Post Office, the Rankins Springs Post Office, Carrathool Post Office and on Council’s Website www.carrathool.nsw.gov.au until Friday 12 June 2009. Any enquiries should be directed to Council’s Director Corporate Services, James Ashton.
At any time during the public exhibition period, submissions in writing may be received by Council and must be addressed to the undersigned. Submissions must be received by 4.30pm on Friday 12 June 2009. In deciding on the final plan to be adopted the Council will take into consideration any submissions that have been received.
